Opendex began as a simple idea while spinning records in the bedroom and watching really good DJs at shows. The idea can be traced back to Los Angeles, where we were living at the time. We would listen to all sorts of incredible electronic music and tool around with our own production, and over time we managed to acquire all the necessary gear. Soon after some bedroom DJ time we started performing at various DJ gigs in the city (special shout out to the Dirty Crew for promoting our first gigs at the Cat Club).

Flash forward to New York City. We all moved here at different times for different reasons (don't ask why). It was here that we decide to formalize the group and start working gigs, composing and producing together. It was only natural for us to incorporate computer technology into our DJ style and methods. That inspired us to push the limits of traditional DJing even further.

That brings us to the present. We're constantly finding new and unique ways to put on a DJ performance. We're located in back Los Angeles now, with some new members of the group bringing a fresh perspective and new sounds.
